The 11kg Flogas commercial propane is used primarily in trade settings — outdoor catering burners, market stalls, construction site heating, and agricultural applications. It is built for appliances with a standard POL type connection — the standard commercial propane connection in the UK. This cylinder is for trade use only and is not suitable for domestic patio heaters or BBQs.
The gas is identical propane — the difference is the valve connection and intended application. The commercial 11kg is a red cylinder with a standard POL type connection, designed for trade equipment such as catering burners, construction site heating, and industrial appliances. The 11kg Leisure Patio Gas is a green cylinder using a 27mm clip-on domestic propane regulator, designed for patio heaters and leisure appliances. Both cylinders deliver propane at 37 mbar through their respective regulators, but the valve fittings are not interchangeable. The 11kg Flogas Commercial Propane uses a standard POL type connection — a left-handed thread fitting standard on commercial propane equipment across the UK. Your regulator, hose, and appliance inlet must all be compatible with the POL type. If you already use a 19kg or 47kg commercial propane cylinder from any supplier, your existing setup will be compatible. If you are connecting to new equipment for the first time, confirm the POL type specification with your equipment supplier before ordering. Run-time depends on the appliance output and how continuously it runs. Propane has a calorific value of approximately 12.9kWh per kg, so an 11kg cylinder holds roughly 142kWh of usable energy. On a single high-output catering burner running at 7–8kW — typical for a wok burner or single-ring hob — the cylinder lasts approximately 17–20 hours of continuous use at full output. On a busier setup with two burners running at 10–12kW combined, expect around 12–14 hours.

Most market traders find an 11kg cylinder covers one to two full trading days depending on their equipment and how consistently the burners are running. For continuous multi-burner use across several days, the 47kg commercial propane is more economical and reduces cylinder change frequency.
