The 6kg Flogas Commercial Propane uses a standard POL type connection and is suited to trade and professional gas equipment — commercial burners, weed burners, roofing torches, and similar applications. It is the smallest commercial cylinder in the Flogas range and is useful when a compact, portable gas source is needed for trade work.
Yes — trade accounts are not required for single orders. Eastern Gases supplies both private and trade customers. A trade account is worth setting up if you order regularly, as it simplifies invoicing and can unlock volume pricing. Call 020 8500 3583 to arrange this.
The 6kg commercial cylinder is a full-size refillable cylinder with a standard POL type connection, not a disposable canister. It is heavier and requires an appropriate regulator and hose. Disposable camping canisters are single-use and much smaller (typically 220g–450g). The 6kg commercial cylinder is refillable through the Eastern Gases cylinder exchange service.

Run-time depends on the output rating of your equipment — check the kilowatt (kW) rating on the tool's data plate or in the manual. Propane contains approximately 12.87 kWh per kg, so a 6kg cylinder holds around 77 kWh of usable energy.

Approximate run-times by equipment output:

  • **5kW** (compact torch / small hand burner): approx. 15 hours
  • **8kW** (standard weed burner / roofing torch): approx. 10 hours
  • **12kW** (high-output torch / commercial roofing torch): approx. 6 hours
  • **15kW** (heavy-duty commercial burner): approx. 5 hours

These figures assume continuous full-output use — the worst-case scenario. Weed burners and roofing torches are typically used in bursts rather than run continuously, so actual cylinder life on a job will often exceed the figures above.

The 6kg is well suited to lighter trade tools and portable work where a compact cylinder is an advantage. For equipment above 15kW or full-day continuous operation, a 19kg or 47kg commercial propane cylinder will reduce how often you need a refill.
